On 30th August 2008, Portscatho will be host to one of the most extraordinary events in the South West. 25 Teams will design, build and launch their homemade flying machines off the Portscatho Breakwater from a 12 foot platform, into the ocean! At around 2.00pm, the carnival of flying machines will parade from the Harbour Club, along the Lugger, giving the audience the chance to vote on their favourite machines - using the in-programme form - and then, as they launch themselves off the platform, other spectator prizes can be voted for including 'Best Plummet' and 'Most Inventive Design', etc. After the event, there will be a prize giving ceremony party at the Harbour Club accompanied by Big-Screen footage of the day's flights.
